Walking in this area is at present restricted by works on the Prescott Channel. When they are complete, further routes will be posted. In the meantime I suggest that you access the Abbey Mills Pumping station (the 'Cathedral of Sewage' ) by turning right from West Ham Tube station and crossing Al Hocken Way. Just after the bridge is a sign for the Capital Ring footpath. Turn in here and go up the steep steps (a few meters on is an easy-access slope). Turn left at the top and go over a very grotty bridge.
